This
$99 screening package includes stroke/carotid artery ultrasound,
abdominal aortic ultrasound, ankle-brachial index, and blood pressure
checks. All results are reviewed by Mercy vascular surgeon
Peter McDonnell, MD.
Vascular disease
is among the leading causes of death in the United States. However,
it is generally without symptoms until a catastrophic event occurs,
such as a stroke or aneurysm rupture.
The screenings
are recommended for people 55 years or older with cardiovascular
risk factors such as a history of high blood pressure, diabetes
mellitus, smoking, high cholesterol, or known cardiovascular disease.
Payment can
be by check, cash, Mastercard or Visa and needs to be made in advance.
